Continental Tires launched the latest EcoContact 7 and EcoContact 7 S (hereinafter referred to as EC7, EC7 S), replacing the previous product EC6. These two tires are designed for electric vehicles and can also be used on fuel vehicles. In addition to focusing on economical energy saving, EC7 also launched the more sporty EC7 S. In order to reduce wind resistance and improve energy saving and wear resistance, the new EC7 and EC7 S have added a golf ball-like groove design on the shoulder side. Continental said that this design can reduce the airflow behind the tire, so that less kinetic energy is consumed during rolling, achieving energy saving and low wind resistance.
Continental EC7 and EC7 S are designed specifically for electric vehicles. Under the EU standard, the rolling resistance is Class A, and the wet braking and road noise are Class B. Currently, EcoContact 7/S has been adopted as original tires by car manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and BYD.
