Auto Bild recently published its 2025 UUHP (Ultra Ultra High Performance) tire test, evaluating seven UUHP tires on a Lotus Emira in 245/35R20 and 295/30R20 specifications. Continental's SportContact 7 (SC7) dominated five of nine test categories, demonstrating exceptional all-round performance in both dry and wet conditions. In the wet braking test (100–0 km/h), the SC7 achieved a stopping distance of just 43.7 meters – nearly 4 meters shorter than the second-place tire. It also outperformed competitors in dry braking (100–0 km/h) by a decisive 2-meter margin.
Test editor Dierk Möller praised the SC7 for "setting new standards in dry and wet braking" significantly enhancing driving safety. He highlighted its outstanding performance on wet surfaces, where it claimed top positions across multiple tests, delivering "harmonious and controllable handling characteristics."
Auto Bild, Germany's leading automotive magazine renowned for its rigorous vehicle and tire evaluations, compared seven global brands across nine criteria:
-
Wet performance: Aquaplaning (straight/cornering), handling, braking
-
Dry performance: Handling, braking, comfort, noise, rolling resistance
